Nanotechnology Research Center (NANOTAM) at Bilkent University (Turkey)
Nanotechnology Research Center (NANOTAM) at Bilkent University is dedicated to research on applied nanoscience and nanotechnology with strong emphasis on education and training.
NANOTAM is an inter-disciplinary research environment which houses the nanotechnology related research efforts, and serves to all nanotechnology related departments in Bilkent University as well as the other Turkish universities that would like to have access to the center’s facilities.
The center has a total of 4,200 square meter of office and lab areas.
A 550 square meter of class-100 level clean room is dedicated to nano- lithography including RAITH E-Line e-beam lithography system along with various nanofabrication equipments including ICP-RIE, PECVD, AFM, Sputter systems, E-beam deposition, RTP, UV Mask Aligner, Diffusion furnaces. An AIXTRON RF200/4 RF-S GaN/AlGaN MOCVD epitaxial growth system has been installed and can be used for the growth of all GaN and related materials.
The center also houses 16 separate research laboratories (with a total area of 1500 square meters) dedicated to various research projects.
The main research areas are:
- METAMATERIALS
- PHOTONIC CRYSTAL
- GaN/AlGaN DEVICES
